Places That Make Us
Places Matter
Why do places mean so much to us? For some it’s a means of escape from everyday life, whilst for others it’s somewhere to connect and be ourselves. Commissioned by UK charity the National Trust, I series produced a suite of short documentaries that were released online, amassing millions of views on Facebook and winning Bronze and Silver at the Brand Film Festival in London.
Featuring Kevin and his autistic son Ged who walk the Durham Coast as way to cope with Ged’s autism, and Margaret a 70-year-old ‘recycled teenager’ whose favourite saying “we’re retired, not expired” perfectly sums up her group of friends that meets once a week at a community centre in North London.
