Letisha believes that film is a powerful tool to educate, inform and inspire. She has produced music videos, short films, documentaries and branded content for a variety of platforms. As a creative producer, she works from development through to distribution and with a background in film production, design and marketing, she brings a holistic view to each project. With over 7 years experience, she brings a nuanced understanding of story and an ability to keep films on track and on budget without compromising on quality.
She has filmed in a total of 13 countries around the world - from an inlet with just 25 inhabitants in Greenland, to tea farms in Kenya and the bustling streets of Tokyo. She has interviewed a wide range of people and has experience dealing with refugees, elderly and those with special needs, as well as high-profile actors and musicians. She approaches all of her projects with empathy and compassion and is experienced in dealing with a variety of sensitive subject matters.
Her documentary work has been selected by The New Yorker and Short of the Week and has screened at Sheffield DocFest and the British Film Institute. Her clients have included the BBC, CNN, Google and Nokia and her work has appeared on Netflix, Roku, BBC, CNN, SBS, TVNZ, Māori Television and more.
Letisha holds a BA (Film & Media and Art History), and a BCom (Marketing). After starting her career working in advertising and design, she spent nearly five years working as a Producer and then Senior Producer for London and New York based production company Lonelyleap, before returning home to Aotearoa in 2018.
She currently works part-time as an Assistant Producer for Catherine Fitzgerald of Blueskin Films and is producing Eleanor Bishop’s short film as part of Jane Campion and Philippa Campbell’s ‘A Wave in the Ocean’ programme, alongside developing several independent film and television projects.
